INTOVA INWD-IC600 6.0 MP with Waterproof Housing

Overview

This 6 megapixels underwater camera makes taking pictures below affordable. The housing is waterproof upto 54 meters. I myself love to dive upto 25-30 meters but mainly stay at 15-20 meters (about 60 feet) because of all the live, lights and colors at those depths. This is a perfect camera for that.

The 12x zoom and the 6mp make this a camera that you would have paid for much more a year ago.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intova INWD-IC600 Camera, October 15, 2008

I took this camera out to an underwater archaeology site. It worked great and took good pictures especially with the flash. The water had about 2 to 3 ft. visibility. I tried to take a picture without the flash but the lighting was too poor. The video part of the camera worked very well too. The only problem is the small buttons with thick gloves. Memorize the buttons because you won't be able to tell what the buttons are since they are only black with very small icons. Well worth the price.

I bought this camera specifically for my recent trip to Riviera Maya. I wanted a small camera that was not as expensive as my normal camera so I wouldn't be as upset if something happened to it. I ended up stumbling upon this underwater camera and thought I may as well try it out. It ended up being a great find!
The camera worked fine. It takes good pictures on land and in the water. The only problems I had with it at all were: 1. The shutter speed is slow so you have to get used to taking pictures in front of moving objects (i.e. fish) 2. The casing often got fogged up underwater so it was hard to see the screen to aim 3. The resolution on the screen is not the best so I couldn't really tell if my pictures were good until I put them on my computer
However, the camera only cost me $120 which is not bad at all for the quality. I got some amazing pictures while snorkeling, and it was just the right size to carry around during our travels. I was very pleased overall with this product!
