Verizon Service Options

(Learn more about where EV-DO coverage is offered.) The V Cast Music service enables you to download songs instantly to your phone, or purchase music through your PC and transfer the files to your phone. V Cast Music offers nearly 2 million songs, with more being added all the time.

With the V Cast Video service, you can stream or download video clips to your phone from a variety of news, entertainment, sports, and weather channels, including CNN, ABC News, E!, CBS Sports, The Weather Channel, and VH1.

Getting on the Internet is easy using Verizon’s Mobile Web 2.0 package, which allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Get It Now service.

With this GPS-enabled phone, you’ll be able to access Verizon’s VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps.

Bad choice

Disappointed in LG
I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for about 9 years now. The majority of the phones I have had from them have been LG, and I have been extremely pleased with their durability....until now. I purchased this phone in March 08'. The first phone they sent me wouldn't stay charged, so I sent that one back, and received a new one. Within two months, all of the silver around the outside of the phone had chipped off...not worn off, and when I called them they said this was not a "manufacturing .... Read more

One year follow-up review
A year ago, I upgraded from my Razr to the Venus. Here's how it feels after the initial excitement:

- Customizable multifunction keys: Still extremely appreciated to quickly get to useful functions & tools (esp. since the menu is awful...has ANYONE ever used Get It Now?)

- HUGE external screen: Makes caller ID great; good camera form factor (albeit AWFUL lag between press & image capture; image always seems 4x farther)

- Upgraded memory w/ flash card, so .... Read more

Save your money-don't buy the Venus!!!!
purchase anything else and you will be happy. Here's my experience. The phone is 3 months old. Shuts off spontaneously during calls, bluetooth randomly doesn't connect to the bluetooth in my car to make calls. It apparently has corrupted software (common on the venus, per verizon wireless technical rep). So, with a software update it worked properly for about a week. Today, it has shut off every time I have made a call (two of the calls were to verizon to report the problem). Verizon will .... Read more
