Overview

The Spirit Z500 folding treadmill is designed to keep you motivated and keep you moving. All Spirit treadmills feature the heaviest-duty chassis and motors in their class, making them durable and long lasting. Beginning with powder-coated steel frames and heavy-duty stable inclines, Spirit adds industrial-quality motors with large-diameter, all-steel balanced flywheels to create a vibration-free, secure walking and running surface. The Z500 itself sports a 3 horsepower motor with a 0.5 to 12 mile-per-hour speed range, along with 2.75-inch rollers that give the two-ply belt superior performance and durability.

The large, easy-to-operate data console features six standard preprogrammed workouts, a pair of user-defined programs, a pair of heart-rate control programs to maximize the efficiency of workouts, 12 quick speed and elevation buttons, and 10 convenient “one- touch” program keys. The six-window display even offers a 1/4-mile track to give you extra motivation when the going gets tough. Other details include a hand-grip heart rate monitor with an optional telemetric heart rate belt; a heart rate graph on the console; a 16-character message window that provides motivational feedback; a 0 to 15 percent elevation belt; ergonomically positioned speed and elevation controls on the handles; built-in cooling fans to assist users in comfort; and a CD/MP3 interface with built-in speakers. The Z500 also comes with a host of warranties: a lifetime warranty on the frame, a 30-year warranty on the motor, a five-year warranty on the electronics and wear items, and a one-year warranty on labor.

big guys need a big machine
I did a lot of research before I bought this machine and it paid off. THere were no real sales out there ,but rather phony discounts.This the only one truly marked down. I am over 300 pounds so I knew I needed a sturdy machine with a big motor. I used to work at a health club and for me only the star trac is any better than this one.Free shipping? this thing weighs over 250 pounds. Spirit Treadmill
The treadmill is awesome. The problem was with Amazon. It was suppose to be delivered "white glove" meaning brought into my home and set up. Amazom assured me before delivery (and actually placing the order) that I would receive this service. It was dropped off in my garage and I was told it was threshold only. Great Treadmill - Compare to Sole F83
I was about to buy a Sole F83 treadmill for around $1700 delivered when I discovered that this treadmill was almost identical and just marketed under a different brand. Far as I can tell, that is accurate... the only difference I see besides a slightly different paint job is this model doesn't seem to have a place to hook up the ipod which is a totally useless feature far as I am concerned anyway.

I'm 110% pleased. Love it.
I was very concerned about purchasing something this costly over the internet. Everything went very smooth. The product arrived in a couple of weeks in a BIG truck. It's extremely heavy! The delivery man helped me get the box inside the house. From there it was easy to assemple, took abut 20 minutes. The fold up feature works great and it is very easy to roll around, at least on my tile floors. It took a me a little time to get it leveled just right. There was a little wobble at first. ....
